Last three days

Hello, on Monday children will come to my class as usual and we will head to Collective worship. After this the children will head to their new class for the day to get to know their teacher.

I am really hoping to swim on Tuesday especially as we were unable to swim on Thursday or Friday so please send kits in. Children do not need PE kits or reading bags.

Learning journals and other books will be kept in school for at least a year. This ensures that should we ever have visitors in the next year, we are able to show learning from start to finish. The children have lots of other loose bits of learning, much of which has been initiated by themselves. This can come home. However at the moment everything is stored in hanging bags and I am unable to send these home unless I can replace them for the new children. They cost £1.50 to buy and should you want to keep these bags please can you send the money in a named envelope  with £1.50 book bag contribution on it. If you prefer not to have this bag, please send in a named carrier bag for Tuesday.

We had a lovely treat on Friday afternoon. Thank you very much to RAFT for organising it.

Delicious!

Almost there.

It is only when you have the new children visiting that you really realise just how much you are going to miss your class as they progress into Y1. However I am so looking forward to seeing how they continue to flourish and gain even more confidence and independence with their new teacher.

Keep up the lovely home learning as you have all made a difference to your children's learning. In my next blog I will put some ideas together of how you can support your children over the holidays. 6 weeks is a huge amount of time with no structured learning and every bit of support will minimise the regression that many children experience after such a long break. I will be collecting in reading books on Thursday and Friday.

Now for the enjoyable photos from the very busy Wednesday at Drews Pond. For people who don't know these woods, they really are a great place for walks especially with the little stream running through it.

On Thursday we had a visit from a veterinary nurse plus some gorgeous animals.
